A regular “back of the brain” dream project car is the idea of dropping the body of some small car over the chassis of a Miata to make a silly little pocket rocket.
Today I found this 1950's Lloyd Alexander estate, which looks epic, but is too small for the project. How small is two small you may ask? The wheelbase is ten inches smaller than a first-gen Miata. There literally is not enough car to make up the difference.

You should buy them anyway. Swap a motorcycle engine into one and a Tesla motor into the other.

I’m curious if the electric one has been converted in period, or more recently.

stretch the Lloyd. cut the front fender just behind the wheel opening, and before the door, and add what you need there. or you might move the rear opening some too
when you really WANT to do something, you will find a way.........
